The food was very flavorful and tasted great. The staff were very nice and helpful. The food came quickly and the staff checked if everything was alright. The music playing in the background was nice. The salt and pepper chicken was very good and yummy.
There was slay Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo music playing. However they used ready made BBQ pork for the curry. Should use the fresh pork for the ingredients.
Take away on a public holiday.
The boy who took our order was nice. We only had to walk the block once and the food was ready. We live 20 minutes away from the restaurant and the food was still relatively warm when we arrived home.
They forgot our prawn crackers. No flavour to any of the meals. Coconut rice was more like plain boiled rice. Cashew nut chicken was very plain and watery, you can get a better flavoured sauce at Aldi. The chicken had an odd texture, somewhat stretching? Stringy?.
The sauce for the spring rolls had a skin over the top.
$70 for 2 main. 2 coconut rices and 2 entrees.
Overall experience. 2 / 10.
Will not be back again. đź‘Ž
I don't get why people are giving bad review for this place.
We look up the place online and so many bad review saying "the worst food".
Turns out the food are decent!
We ordered few dishes:
+ Salt & pepper chicken
They gave decent quantity, flavourful chicken and flavouring. They use capsicum instead of chilli, so kid friendly.
+ Japanese tofu & seafood claypot
The tofu dish is great with thick garlic sauce. Prawn was plumpy and well cooked
+ Chinese sausage fried rice
Again, very flavourful without being very overwhelming. A bit of wok-hei would be amazing.
- downside is that they only employ 1 staff, which seems abit overwhelmed (despite doing a great job đź‘Ť)
+ Food came out less than 10 min after order.
Don't care about the decoration and service as long as the food is great and fast.
Deserve better rating imo
First time trying Mr rice as wanted delivery, tried theee different mains and all were sub par compared to others in Ballarat area. Main issue is the curries were diluted in that they were a watery consistency, if this were different I think I’d rate it much better.. we will stick to our tried and true restaurants for now..
Worst food. expecting nasi goreng and I think I got yellow fried rice. Tom yum soup was not Tom yum it was something else with big chunks of carrot🥕, celery, zucchini and cauliflower. Also got pad Thai noodle but again got same sauce with less noodle.
I ordered for a Mongolian stir fry, the food arrived in less than 10 minutes, not sure how they prepared the dish that quickly. The sauce was too thick and cold, the vegetable pieces were hot, meat was like some pieces cold some others hot.. it was a dish that was carelessly prepared. I was very disappointed. Will not go there anymore, sorry to say.
Six of us, on a day visit to Ballarat on Thursday 19-10-2023 went here for lunch at 2pm and was told that they were closed. When we pointed out the 2:30 closing time on the door, he changed his mind and let us in. Biggest mistake!! We …

Food - 5/10
Service - 6/10
Ambience - 8/10
Have you ever been to a Restaurant, they served the dish (Vegetables Tofu), and you feedback to them that the Tofu tasted “Sourish and bad”, and their response was “Oh, our Tofu are fast moving and we made them freshly everyday.” That is not the proper response. We ended up with a tofu which is inedible.
